Finding the right living accommodations can be overwhelming and stressful. Our team aims to give you the information you need and to guide you through the decision making process. Below is a brief overview of the various options that exist in Israel.

• Independent Residences – Living in a community that is not specific to retirees in an independent apartment or home  may be the best and most comfortable option for some people. • Retirement Community A retirement community is the perfect option for people who want to and are able to live independently but do not want to maintain a home. These “active” communities have residential units only and no long-term health care facility. They offer a wide range of services to their residents including health, social, cultural, fitness and recreational services.
• Assisted Living Facilities (‘Diyur Mugan’)– An assisted living facility bridges the gap between independent living and nursing care and is the right choice for people who need assistance but wish to live as independently as possible. The residents are not able to live by themselves but don’t require constant care. These facilities also offer a wide range of services to their residents similar to those offered in a retirement community, but provide additional care for those who need it.
• Old Age Home (‘Beit Avot’) An old age home is a place of residence for people who require significant assistance with activities of daily living. These may include bathing, dressing, eating and walking.

When considering any residence there are many factors to keep in mind. Are they socially or religiously in tune with your needs? Does the staff speak English? What is their proximity to public transportation?  Are affiliated with a specific kupah (health care provider)?.
